Perhaps you’re facing a Christmas family time that has been marred by hurt, by loss, or simply because of isolation. Those are real things to grieve to be sure. But in that grief and darkness, God is still near and He longs to have a heart-to-heart with each one of us.
Jesus lived a human life for our sake, setting aside His glory and power so that we could be sure that He knows precisely what we are facing in our own lives. He grieved the loss of those He loved, mocked by his own brothers, judged by the religious elite, and was valued sometimes only for what He did for people. But He also laughed at jokes, sang songs, and enjoyed spending time with people. And through it all, He relied on His relationship with His father to keep Him grounded in the things that matter most.
This year Greg wrote a devotional for Christmas day that we've sent out to our church family in France and we decided to translate it into English to be able to share it with you (attached below as a pdf). Feel free to read and pray through it alone or with your family.
May God grant you His peace and joy throughout the coming weeks!
