We are grateful. We are blessed. And we have a “new” car!
An enormous thank you to everyone who felt prompted to give towards its purchase or have been giving over the years. Between money that came in last week and money that we’d been setting aside in our KM account, we were able to trade in our car of 5.5 years (not bad for an ’05 that had been slowly wearing out, right?) for the purchase a 2014 Citroën C4.
Between help from friends and a few days with an insurance-covered rental car we were able to do everything we needed to, from buying groceries, to getting to meetings, to car shopping. We’re so thankful!
On a final note, I happened to notice yesterday that our website contained information that was out-of-date, had incorrect links, and needed a little tlc, so now the pages about the organizations we work under and the churches we serve have been tidied up and are once again useful. The front page is now only lacking a new photo — Ophelia is so tall that she nearly comes to my shoulders now. For me, it’s a good reminder that time marches on whether we notice or not and that God is just as faithful in 2021 as he was in 2016.
Today we’re heading off for a weekend away with friends who help operate a vacation spot about 3-4 hours away. There’s plenty of space for our kids to run around outside together and for us to relax with some familiar faces that we haven’t seen for a year. In fact, they were the last friends we visited just before the first lock-down a year ago. What a difference a year has made!
Who are the people that you haven't seen for a year? Or maybe two? Take a moment to pray for them. And while you're at it, thank God for the way He provides - through others, through His creation, through His power.
